Vim is a short form of We have improved. It is an open source and free tool with a command line interface and a graphical user interface. This article shows you how to install the vim editor on Debian version 10 using the terminal.
To get started, you’ll need to open a terminal with root privileges and update your repositories. Run the following command.
It will take a few minutes for the command to run.
Next, run the following command to install the vim editor.
apt-get install vim
When prompted for confirmation, press Enter on your keyboard and wait for the process to complete. This can take a few minutes, depending on your internet connection.
When the process is complete, you can start the vim editor. Run the following command to open the editor.
This will open an editor where you can start writing, copying, and saving the file.
